Unit 1 - Getting Ready for Post-Secondary
Welcome to your first Blog Assignment!
Here are your topics/questions for your blog discussion in Unit 1. Your responses are due by Friday, Oct 1, 2010. Your response must cover all questions being asked in the topic and must be answered in complete sentences. Ideally, your response should be 6-8 sentences in length at minimum. You may choose to write about one or both of the following topics:
1. As adults, we have had to develop effective time management strategies to balance our lives. What are your best tips and strategies for time management in general? How can you utilize these in college or university? What are some difficulties that a mature student may encounter when creating a schedule that a newly-graduated high school student would not? Are there any advantages related to scheduling as a mature student?
2. How can students apply Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences in their own learning? How can teachers and professors benefit? How does it apply to adult learners in particular? Which areas of intelligence can you identify most with and why?

Welcome to GLS4O!
Here you will be required to respond to and discuss readings and course material with your colleagues and facilitators. There are required blog reponse assignments that you will find in your course outline that will be graded. Here, we ask you to respond to the weekly assignment but we also encourage you to discuss additional ideas, feelings, thoughts, and opinions with your peers and facilitators. This blog is a way to bring all four sections/facilitators of GLS40 together as a large group so that we can share diverse thoughts and ideas with one another.
Please take a moment to introduce yourself to the group. Include whether you are university or college bound, which program you are entering, and any thoughts/concerns/ideas you have about taking this course. This does not count as your first Blog Response and will not be graded.
We are looking forward to an educationally exciting fall in GLS40!
Happy Blogging,
Audrie and Jenna
